Day 305 – Plate – 50 Word Story Expanded

“You son-of-a-bitch, I can’t believe I trusted you, I can’t believe, we all trusted you!” He yells, as he grabs her by the throat and slams her against the wall, she struggles for air, trying to free herself from his grip, then, suddenly, she stops struggling, relaxes herself, and smiles.

“This is embarrassing,” she says as she thrusts a hand into his chest and rips out his heart, he stares lifelessly at her, as his mouth drops open, and falls in a heap, she looks over to the others, and raises her blood covered hand, and licks the blood from it. “God, if only you knew how bad all the shit you eat, that you think is good for you actually makes you taste.”

“VILE DEMON BE GONE!” A young man screams as he rushes forward, holding out a cross, she thrusts forward, and grabs him by the head, and twists, the snapping of his neck cracks like a bolt of thunder, and she tosses him to the side.

“New material please, this shit is old, and never works anyway, don’t you fuckers like keep journals that you pass on to the next generation, so they’ll learn from your mistakes?” she says, looking once more at the dwindling number. “Come on, I can do this all night, why don’t you save me time and just give up.”

“We will never bow before you, we will never give you what you want!” Another yells, as he tightly hold onto a large blade.

“Tobias, really? Do you honestly think you stand a chance against me? Do you really think, you have the strength, to take down a knight of the realm beyond this realm?”

“I do,” he hisses through clenched teeth, as he readies himself for her attack.

“Then, by all means, come at me you pathetic piece of flesh and bones, or don’t bother, let me come to YOU!” She growls as she charges forward, all too late she sees him, from the corner of her eye, the young priest, his face, wearing a twisted smile. She feels the blade pierce her chest, and, for the first time, realises, that even the other, can die, the eternal death.

Matthew Tonks

People are surprised when reading Matthew’s stories that he’s a sane forty something year old, happily married, father of one, employed full time and dream of dark disturbing things that any sane person would never even contemplate thinking of. But it's true, he’s toyed with writing for most of his adult life, but has always found the peg a writer must fit into is not the shape he wished to be. His writing can be described as lamenting, long, concussive (yes it smashes you in the head), compulsive, and stuffed with rhythmic communication and violence, let’s not forget the violence. His own opinion on his writing is this, “You see, I don't just want the words to seep into your mind, but into your soul, showing you images of blood and beauty through, volatile language, violence, sex, love and sin. My muse takes different shapes, and every now and then you can see her shining her wicked smile in some of my stories, tempting you with her promises, but ripping your heart out instead.” So have a look, and take a seat in my wayward ride, as you join me while I purge through, this twisted road of madness.
